Founded in 1989, El Gouna has evolved from a serene spot with a single hotel and a handful of villas to a vibrant haven where passions come to life. Located just 25 km north of Hurghada, this unique town offers everything from kitesurfing, diving, and horse riding to wellness, yoga, and relaxation. Clean Wind and Safe Shores
Situated in the northernmost part of El Gouna, our location is free from natural windbreakers like trees and hotels, ensuring uninterrupted and stable wind conditions for kitesurfing. The shore is free from dangerous corals, though we recommend water shoes to protect against occasional shells.
Our Spot: A Kitesurfer’s Dream
We are located at the Kite Power Station in El Gouna. Our kitesurfing spot boasts a vast shallow area of crystal-clear water, extending 2-3 km in length and approximately 1 km in width up to the reef, making it an idyllic playground for kitesurfers and foilers alike. With sandy bottoms and no dangerous corals, our spot ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Perfect Conditions for All Levels
The water depth varies from 40-70 cm depending on the tide, offering conditions suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. At low tide, a short walk leads you to endless water, while at high tide, the water reaches chest depth, perfect for those looking to explore beyond the shallows. Our spot is renowned for its suitability for hydrofoil and wingfoiling, thanks to deeper waters beyond the reef and the absence of obstacles, providing clean and constant wind conditions.
Wind
We are so lucky to have amazing wind conditions year round! The Red Sea provides super stable wind for most of the year and during winter, we tend to get a mix of light and strong wind days. The optimum conditions for teaching are 12-26knots (22 – 48KPH). This is to ensure we have fun and safe kitesurfing lessons. Our kite instructors are highly qualified and always make decisions based on the safety of their students.
Lagoon
El Gouna has large, flat water lagoons perfect for all kitesurfing levels! The wind is side-onshore, direction North-North West and is typically an average of 15-25 knots. The water in the lagoon is really warm in the summer…get your tan on while kiting in shorts or a bikini!
Temperature
Temperatures in Egypt can reach high 30s in the summer, and pleasant low 20s in the winter. You can comfortably wear a bikini or board shorts and a lycra while kitesurfing in the summertime. It is recommended to wear short wetsuits for kiting in Spring and Autumn (May and June/September and October) and long wetsuits in the winter (December to April March).
Tide
The lagoon is shallow enough to stand in all areas, but you can also kite in the deep water just a bit further out from the main teaching and riding areas. There is plenty of space for everyone – beginners, advanced, students or independent kiters! The tides are a bit lower in the summer and typically higher in the winter.
